The California Gold Rush

We all admit this AI Goldrush is exciting, and let’s take a quick look back at history and ponder the thought of who will become the wealthiest during the next ten years of our great AI expansion.
Lessons from the California Gold Rush:
The output of gold rose from $5 million in 1848 to $40 million in 1849 and $55 million in 1851. However, only a minority of miners made much money from the California Gold Rush.

It was much more common for people to become wealthy by providing the miners with over-priced food, supplies and services.

Sam Brannan was the great beneficiary of this new found wealth. Prices increased rapidly and during this period his store had a turnover of $150,000 a month (almost $4 million in today’s money).

By 1860, Brannan was one of the richest men in California, considered by many to be the territory’s first millionaire. Ref: https://spartacus-educational.com/USAgoldrushC.htm

Why does this matter? Because most are focusing on becoming part of the main stream within the AI Goldrush where it’s highly possible those who create and/or sell ancillary services will become the biggest beneficiaries in the long run!
